Fourth of July holiday is here! There are several ways to celebrate and watch fireworks in Washington whether it be on the National Mall, across the Potomac River or BBQs with family and friends. With the city drawing some 700,00 tourists for the festivities, a great experience to watch fireworks is at one of the many upscale rooftops downtown.

1) Top of the Gate, The Watergate Hotel
Newly renovated “Top of the Gate” rooftop at the Watergate Hotel provides stunning views of the city and it’s the top pick for 4th of July festivities in 2017. Luxury hotel in Georgetown that’s a hidden gem and prime location to view fireworks during 4th of July. Located along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal, this genteel hotel near shops is 2 miles from the National Mall and a short walk from Georgetown Waterfront Park on the Potomac River. [Get tickets]
3) Top of the Yard Rooftop Bar (Hampton Inn Hotel, Navy Yard)
For a more relaxed yet festive event, visit Top of the Yard Rooftop Bar located in the Navy Yard close to Nationals Park. Tickets include drinks and unlimited build-your-own hot dog bar and popcorn stand along with other fun surprises throughout the night! [Get tickets]
4) July 4th Fireworks Soiree (Cambria Hotel & Suites, DC Convention Center)
Located downtown near the DC Convention Center, this soiree offers fireworks with a gorgeous panoramic view of the city. DJs will spin an electric mix of dance music along with live performances. [Get tickets]
5) Sky Bar, Beacon Bar & Grill Hotel
One the longest running fireworks viewing parties in DC is at Sky Bar located off Rhode Island Avenue NW. The party starts at 6pm with signature cocktails, an a la carte picnic menu and live DJ. [Get tickets]
One of my all time favorite rooftops in DC where I’ve celebrated several fireworks shows that never fails and promises good views and an upscale rooftop for 4th of July.
Located a block from the White House, P.O.V. rooftop at the W Hotel draws a hip crowd and has a stylish decor, seasonal cocktails & excellent city views. The rooftop is centrally located and it’s definitely on the list of of popular places to visit for the 4th.
8) The Lookout
The Lookout has a casual vibe and experience for the 4th with a rooftop offering great city views that’s also centrally located on 18th street. The Lookout is a creative coworking community for independent film professionals and production companies that will celebrate the 4th in style and sell tickets to the public for the holiday. Another Georgetown favorite and one of the first upscale/boutique rooftops on M street that also provides excellent service. The Graham has been home to several tv show recordings and events in DC for the past five years or so. The rooftop lounge and bar offers city views, plus a cozy cellar cocktail bar and restaurant.
10) Rooftop at Jack Rose Dining Saloon
Whiskey leads the way at high-end bar with American menu, themed dining rooms & an open air terrace that offers perfect rooftop views for 4th of July. This year is Jack Rose’s 5th Annual “AmeriCAN DrinkDepdendence Day” event that will commence with the rooftop terrace opening at 3pm and serving specials throughout the day like $4 Flying Dog canned brews and 1/2 priced bites. Soak in the capital skyline while you savor enticing cocktail concoctions or sip refreshing beers or wine hailing from Spain, Italy, and Oregon’s Willamette Valley, among other destinations.
